This is an outstanding original and very rare power unit! This is the only 40 hp size heavyweight power unit known. All Oil Turn power units are rare, but the heavyweight models are exceptionally rare with all known examples counted on one hand. Purchased from the Spolestra Collection in Washington state, sold at the Pre-30 Auction several years ago. It has been told to us that it originated from the famed Krumwiede collection many years ago. Oil Pull decals are still visible on the radiator and you can catch a glimpse of original paint on the machine. There is no serial number tag but the crankshaft is stamped Sn. 3930. A real survivor, in too good of original condition to restore. Started up after a routine maintenance inspection and thorough lubrication after years of storage. Runs great and will be a focal point of any Rumely collection. Really rare and really nice - two highly desirable traits!

Old repair on head, originally probably a skid engine and added onto trucks, but appear to be original to the engine, original, clutch appears rebuilt, recast air cleaner parts.

Work that has been completed: weld bungs for tanks, fuel tank rolling and ends, valve guides, springs, valves, air cleaner, surfaced heads, mounted on home made cart, rods rebabbitted, put bronze tube for main bearings, crankshaft was ground, studs and nuts replaced for counterweights, new clutch lining, new oil pump bushing, new belt pulley bushing, new bronze pump impeller, cut out loose rivets in framework Installed new nuts and bolts, fixed cylinder support bracing, machined governor shaft and assembled governor machined fuel pump plunger and put pump together, machined axle pivot pin and plate, rebuilt carb, main bearings work, new piston rings, ran new lubricator lines. fixed cracks and welded, made a top plate for front axle, rebuilt mag, new pulley bushing, and oil pump rebuilt.
