Builder - Roland Evans

Year - 1980
Material - Long Leaf Yellow Pine/Epoxy
25 ft LWL and 5 Ft Beam
Fore and Aft Compound Engine
Water Tube ASME Code Boiler new in 2001 (low hours!)
Galvanized Trailer with New Tires

The boat is built from 150-year-old long leaf southern yellow pine. At most it might need some caulking, but it is strip built of one-inch square strips and glued with the same epoxy used in the building of the world war two torpedo boats.  All the wood came from one large timber removed from an old factory in Boston. The timber was seventy feet long and had square holes from other timber.  It does need the paint refreshed.  The inside of the boat was always coated in linseed oil.  This boat spent much of its life in salt water but also traveled a lot with likely 1/2 its time on the trailer and over the road.

The boat is a scaled down hull lines of the Navy launch #4 built at Mare Island in 1869. She was 50 foot by 10 foot beam.  Lisa Ann was lofted as 25 foot by 5 foot beam.  The safety valve setting is 300 psi.  There is also new bottom paint, thinner, and seal sealer for the boat and a few bits that go along.  There is also a bent pipe with a little fork in the end that supports the stack when folded down - it threads into a mount under a front floor board.

The engine is of Roland Evans design and castings. The crank is all ball and roller bearing.  The boat has a steam ejector on the side of the hull near the boiler for a bilge pump. Build a fire and have steam up before launching, use the steam ejector for the bilge water and she tightens right up.

The boat has a current NH registration and the trailer a PA title.  There is a marine survey included that was done a few years ago with very little time in the water since then.

- Penberthy injector
- Steam ejector bilge pump
- Folding stack with 2 whistles
- Tube structure for canopy over aft cabin area included - needs new cover
- Setup for solid fuel but the boat also has fuel oil tanks and was once oil fired.  Some parts of the stainless/inconel combustion chamber included.
- Trailer has new tires, new jack, and new 2 speed winch.
