This addition increased the house's capacity fourfold. The house was sold again in 1879 and remained with the same family until 1917. The house underwent a five year restoration that completed in 1972. In the spring of 2005, the current owner bought the house and began a major restoration preserving the house to what you see now! The 1920s hardwood floors were restored. All the chandeliers have remained in use in the house. There's a brass gas lamp in the front foyer that originated from an old Indiana firehouse. The bathroom lights upstairs were originally gas lamps from a San Francisco hotel. Behind the house, there was once a wood porch and sunken cistern, but now stands a beautiful red brick courtyard. Red brick pavers have been places in a weave design for sidewalks around and leading up to the home. Brick pillars border the property enhancing the wrought iron fencing.
